Morgan Genealogy

Edwin Denison Morgan (1811-1883) was a prominent Whig turned Republican who served as Governor of New York from 1859-1862.


John Pierpont Morgan (1837-1913) was the leading financier in the United States.


I have often read that the two men were distantly related, but I have never seen a demonstration that this was true. I have traced the connection. As shown in the attached document, they were sixth cousins.
